St. Thomas, Ontario will be represented at the Paralympic Games this August in Rio de Janeiro by our very own, Gordie Michie. A member of the St. Thomas Jumbo Jets for the past six years, Michie has qualified for four events at this summer’s international competition. Michie owes his success to his own ‘mindfulness’ and his ability to set reasonable, attainable goals.
In between his morning and afternoon training sessions on Wednesday, Michie stopped by the Talbot Teen Centre to talk to the young adults about how to get involved in sport, the importance of goal setting, focusing on these set goals, working hard and being mindful of one’s actions.
The youth and staff at the TTC have created a video for the launch of our new website! Take a look!
